There's something wrong with my dog... any help much appreciated!
I have a 4 yr old Rottweiler who is very much a horse when it comes to eating and drinking. However over the last few weeks she isn't eating properly and sometimes not at all. She is also making a whimpering sound, as if I had stood on her foot, more of a yelp than anything, but no one is near her when she does this. When she starts to whimper she runs around and lowers her bum, like she's in pain. I took her to the vet last week and he told me its because she had eaten so much grass that its clogged up her tummy. He gave me liquid parafin and some tablets for her and gave her an injection. This had seemed to work but its been a week now, and she seems to be going back to how she was. Her temperature was normal, but I know something is wrong with her, has anyone else experienced something like this or knows what it possibly might be? Thanks :)

How are her stools? The meds may not have finished working. She should have had a couple of grass filled movements by now. If not, call the vet.

They seem to be OK! She finished her meds on Saturday and everythin seemed to be back to normal.. eating and drinking religiously but this morning she was down and wouldn't move from her bed to eat and when I finally coaxed her outside she did her little whimper thing. Might just have to bring her back to the vet!

Eating and drinking don't really correlate with the other end. Has she had any really large stools? Are what she is having firm? Does she whimper when going?

Yeah they are firm, same as they used to be I guess, I have another dog also so kind of difficult to distinguish who's is who if I don't see her going... she only seems to whimper in spurts, I can't notice anything that triggers it, like this morning she started when she stood up and last week she was just standing in the middle of the kitchen and for what seemed like no reason, she started then. I know rotties are subject to hip problems, just hope its not that!

Best to ask the vet. If she's not whining when she squats, that kind of makes me wonder if it's nerves.

It really could be a few different things. Rotties are also prone to cancer as well. I think a vet is your best bet.
