Installing a basement catch drain
We have had our basement dug up as a result of water .The floor drain has been taking away ,we now a new one needs to be made, I would like to know how the contractor would go about this, Is some kind of a form that is pout in place when the concrete is poured

No forms are necessary. All the plumber has to do is stub up the drain line and set the top drain to height. Tape the top to protect from crete stains. What goes wrong here is the rough in of the pipe is wobbly or its set to high for drainage or the top of the drain is not level I swear no matter where some one puts a sump pump or a drain the creators pour the floor where the drain ends up being the highest part of the floor. If I were you I would clarify with the contractor how much slope is desired to that drain of it being all Crete slopes to drain or a radius size around the drain. Keep in mind 1/8" fall per foot min. I like 1/4" per foot on our jobs easier to hit and drains well |
