They look forward to more war, more sickness, and the end destruction of the world, to end this world, so that the final kingdom of God will come at the last judgement

It's not our job to cure these things. It's our job to change the world one heart at a time. But people are always going to be at each other, because the human heart is hopelessly corrupt as Jeremiah said so long ago. The only "cure" will be Jesus' return, when he transforms us to be like him. I base this on a few basic passages like Matthew 24, 1 Thessalonians 4, I Corinthians 15, Revelation 19-21 and a handful of others. Unlike some folks here, I don't believe in a "rapture" followed by a seven-year "tribulation," but I do believe Jesus will return and set things right (according to his definition, not ours).

Love. A transformation of love based upon God's word:
John 13:34
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
and what Bible account do you base your hope on?
The entire Bible. But not the Bible alone:
Matthew 18:17
And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
Hebrews 13:7
Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
2 Thessalonians 2:15
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
You're welcome.
De Maria

Interesting responses. I'd also like to add that the Lord Jesus Christ has already "cured" the sin problem. He WILL set things right one day but until that day, I agree with dwashbur, we are called to change the world one heart at a time.

There is only one cure and that is Jesus Christ, The cure will be manifest when Jesus returns to rule, until then we will just have to endure.
