Do any of her friends have one? Is this peer pressure talking? Twelve seems young. I personally would wait until my daughter was at least 16.

"All" those kids conned their parents with the "tons of people have one" lament. I wanted to get my ears pierced, but my mom told me, "If God had meant you to have holes in your ears, He would have put them there Himself."

Visit her school and count the piercings. Or have her make a list -- names, piercings, where they are, etc.

Personally I wouldn't. "She's" scared and 12... so why do it? "She" should wait until she is older... she may even find she doesn't think it is so cute at that point.

Important for "your daughter" to remember that just because some others might make that choice, doesn't mean it is a good choice to make or one that has to be done right now.
