How to calculate 20 ppm of chlorine for using in 1 ton capacity of washing tank. So how much quantity of chlorine should be added in 1000 liters of water.

How much quantity of chlorine should be added in 1000 liters of water to get 20 ppm. I also need the formula for calculating it.

    1 ppm is 0.001g/L (or 1g/mL)

    20 ppm is therefore (0.001 x 20 =) 0.02g/L.

    So, in 1000 L, you will have 20 g.

In short, if you are working with 1000 L, you can add the amount of grams equal to the ppm.

I have been trying to recreate the derivation of the formula mg/L (or ppm) = lbs/gal x 120,000. I know that the constant 120,000 comes from 1,000,000/8.33 (the weight of a gallon of water) but I can't make the constant come out in the numerator of the equation. I'm starting by saying one ppm = one...
