    Bathtub drain issue

I have the same problem. This has been going on for weeks and I am at my wits end. Can't afford a plumber. I have done every thing except snake. I purchased one but haven't worked up the nerve to use it yet. Any precautions I should take?

Please explain your problem in detail. If you need to snake the tub drain here's how to do it, (see image). To snake your tub remove the two screws holding the chrome face plate and pull up and out on the linkage and plug. Feed your snake in through the opening. You will run into the return bend of the trap about 18 inches down but crank and work your way past that you should only have 6 or 8 more feet to run out. Flush with a tub of hot water. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer, Tom

I live in a mobile home and we've been having problems with our bath tub faucet since we moved in. I have a problem in my bathroom, by my tub/shower, but I don't know if it's a leak or what. Here's a little background: Bought the house in June of 2006. Had the bathroom redone entirely (tub surround, vanity, sink, cabinet, plumbing checked, drywall removed and replaced next to tub, drywall...

Old bathtub drain issue [ 3 Answers ]

My bathtub drain has gone from being sluggish to taking hours to drain completely. (Luckily, I live alone!) I've used Drano. I've snaked it, and the snake is catching on what I assume used to be a part of an old drain stopper mechanism inside. Currently, there's no drain stopper in the tub. The...
