I think that philosophy opens up new ideas of how or why things happen. It leads to the birth of knowledge and sciences which advance cultures a great deal.

    What do you think guys?

How could we wax and wane without Philosophy? We would have to say, "I Kant do it."

The good thing about philosophy is that it can also put a different Spin-

    Nice pun guys...

Philosophy is derived from the Greek. It means the "love of knowledge." The very first philosophers were agents of true science. They would observe the world around them and determine how it happened. It eventually evolved into a more idealist sort of logic.

Without Philosophy the sciences would not have developed the way they had. It has shaped the world in every way from drastic social and cultural developments to the most refined sciences.

    Hope this helps...

To add infojunkie good post. There was a time not long ago that a philosopher was all but revered. In today's world if someone doesn't agree with your Philosophy you are blown off.

In truth, philosophy is the last pursuit of man. Weather or not this makes it the purist, I'm not sure, I do know that it is the most profound.
