I need to file bankruptcy but can't afford it.
I am in financial trouble and need a fresh start. It's been a long time coming. I am jobless and have no liquidatable assets at all. A bill collector who won't leave me alone, one of many, has laughed at me and said "you're worth more dead than alive." I have called several lawyers and have been told it will cost $1250 on average. I have no money. What do you do when you're so poor that you can't afford to file bankruptcy?

    Hi, Jeff_from_Ohio!

Bankruptcy is something to be avoided and is usually the last choice when all other options have been exhausted.

Have you tried a community action type of agency? Around where I live, we have the following. Project NOW

Perhaps there might be similar type of agency around where you live? Those types of agencies usually also offer free counseling services.

    Thanks!
