Engine Backfire in 16 horsepower brigs and straten

I ran the battery down on a 16 1/2 horsepower briggs and straten engine on a sabre riding mower. When I jump started it, it made a loud backfire through the air intake. It ran OK a week ago until I ran out of gas, then it ran real rough. Now it won't start. What is my problem?

The govenor has failed on my mower. I have a replacement but cannot get the aux drive gear off the camshaft. Anyone know how to do it ?

I just recently put a 12.5 horsepower B&S engine on my murray mower. The original Brigg. 12.5 motor slung a rod. So I put this one on there. It's a little older engine.it has 1wires (one red one) coming out from under the flywheel. And the other one has 2 wires one red and one white. What are...
