i don't want to be friends any more
A few years ago I used to have one really close friend and we did everything together. It was going OK for a while and then a girl randomly came up to us and asked us if she could be friends. Because we were young and friendly of course we accepted. But then the girl started accusing my first best friend of being bossy and rude. She was a bit bossy, I had noticed, but nothing really to complain about. So my new friend told me we should go up to her and tell her we are upset with her being bossy. It ended with my old best friend in tears and I thought, what the hell did I do that for?

A few months later I went on a trip to France with the school. My old best friend (who was still my best friend at that time) hadn't come along but one of my other friends and my new best friend had. So let's call this girl Lucy, the other girl we were sharing a room with. Me and Lucy were sitting on my bed laughing over some joke. Then my new best friend let's call her Sam, walks in and goes to Lucy, 'I was worried you were going to take her away. Now look.' On the final night there was to be a disco at the château and I was really excited. But I couldn't find my shoes anywhere. Then I saw Sam putting my shoes on and I ask her if they're my shoes. She says yes. I tell her that I need to wear them for the disco. She goes to me, 'I'm your best friend so let me wear them!' We had a huge shouting fight eventually I won and got the shoes but it shouldn't have happened.

On the way back from the France trip Sam was being especially mean to me, she started punching me (not that hard but it hurt I was only what, 11?) She told me my parents cared more about the business than me, that my little brother was mad and out of control e.c.t. She gave Lucy my sweets and when I tried to protest, Lucy asked what I was saying 'no' about. Sam told her I was saying no about something else and capped her hand over my mouth so I couldn't speak.

It didn't stop there. Over the past 2 or 3 years, she's been really rude to me. She always says things that make me stop in my tracks and think, wait, did she just say that to me? Recently we had a break-up because things had been mounting up. It was partially Lucy's fault. Lucy (now my bff) told Sam that I cried at night and wrote emails to Lucy about how Sam was so mean to me. Of course when Sam asked me if it was true I said no, then Sam asked Lucy if she'd been telling the truth Lucy said yes. So eventually when I figured out what happened I admitted that Sam had been making me very upset. I told Sam about how she called my brother mad and out of control and her reply was to smile, look around the table and say, 'well he is a bit isn't he?'

When we made up (which I was not happy with) I knew that this relationship with Sam would not last. Sam is my only 'friend' in the class, all my other friends are in other classes. I've thought about class changes but with less than a term left in Middle School, is it worth it for the teachers?

Sorry this is really long-winded. If you have any advice on how I can solve this situation with this girl, please tell me because she is so rude and she doesn't even seem to realise it.

No one is forcing you to stay friends with her. Its clear you don't want to be friends with her anymore. So stop being friends with her. So what if she's currently your only friend in the class. Make new friends

Tell her like you did your old friend that she isn't being very nice. Tell her you don't want to be friends, or stop contact

I would stop being her friend. You will find better and plenty. If that girl did that stuff to me she would have been long gone. But yeah just drop her. You got other friends.

Sam's not worth it whether she's your 'friend' or not. You need someone who can respect you and doesn't make you wonder what she says about you and your family when they're not there.

Ex is seeing a lot of one of my best friends. Think I'm losing friends everywhere [ 5 Answers ]

Ok, not to bore anyone with details, but my ex and I broke up a couple of months ago, and I've found it excruciating to deal with my feelings. I have good and bad days, and a couple of days ago would have been our 2 year anniversary. I've noticed that one of my best friends is getting very close...
