This was a movie that would come on several times a day when HBO first started. It's a movie about a guy who has to get his old group of friends together to fight someone. I believe there were four friends and they were all fighters but different styles. He had to travel from city to city trying to get them to join him. I believe he had to fight them to get them to come with him. It was set in the 1980's.

I believe there were four friends and they were all fighters but different styles. He had to travel from city to city trying to get them to join him. The main character was white but one of his friends was black and another was asian. If I remember correctly, it was sometime in the very early 1980's. I believe he had to fight them to get them to come with him. The asian character knew karate. It was set in the city and it wasn't really a kung fu movie because I believe the asian character was the only one who used karate. I want to say that when the main character finds the black character that the fight is in a junkyard. I can not remember if it was 4 or 5 men that made up the final group but they served together years earlier, maybe in a war? They had all lost touch with each other and the main guy is trying to reunite the team. The main character was much like Rowdy Roddy Piper in "They Live"... The movie had that type of feel to it but it had nothing to do with sci-fi... The name of this movie has been haunting me for years. I've searched through movie reference sites for movies from the late 70's to the early 80's and I can not find it.
