    Teenage daughter
Hello, I have a 15 year old daughter who doesn't come home for days on end. Stays out drinking and smoking , I can't control her, the police are called out every week to find her and bring her home, once home she showers and leaves again! Iam very worried about her, she has not been to school for 3 weeks, and has lost weight. What can I do? Ineed help, I can not cope any more.

Without having any additional history I would suggest some professional intervention.

When the police bring her home, do they say anything to her? Maybe next time they have to bring her home, you could have them talk to her. When my cousin was getting into trouble, my aunt and uncle had the police talk to him. They scared him straight for a while.

I'm kind of surprised that if she's out smoking and drinking and really, wasting their time every time that they have to go out and find her, that they're just dropping her off and not doing anything more. At her age, smoking and drinking are illegal after all.

I agree, however assuming that this has not been a new development I think that as a parent you must have control of a fifteen year old. And if that is a problem then additional help is necessary. I can only see additional problems that are even more severe coming shortly. If financing is a problem there are other social groups and professionals that can help.

Sounds like there's more then just drinking and smoking involved. Is she doing drugs? That would be something I'd get checked, especially because of the weight loss.

It's time to call the professionals, you obviously can't handle this yourself and the police aren't doing anything. She's 15, if you don't deal with this now it's only going to get worse, not better.

You have to be tough here, it may save her life.
