It seems like I have an oily sustance from my submersible water well.
I don't know if it's from my X-TROL pressure tank or from the submersible pump down in the well. The water from the softener looks fine,at least clear. The outside faucets supply is before the softener and that is when I noticed the oily substance. The water also appears to be milky. Thanks.

By pass the saoftner and tell us if the water appears any better. Let a few gallons run before making a determination.

By passed softener and water looks better. Now we know it's softener related but what would cause the oily cloudy water?

Sorry but after rereading your first post I now think it is not the softner since the outside faucet is before the softner.
