Georgia: Speeding Ticket; confusing speed zones.
Yesterday I was driving home from a road trip to Florida, and was pulled over for going 70 in a 45 zone. The speed limits had been changing like crazy over about 3 miles, from 65 to 55 to 45 and back again. I was under the impression that I was in a 65 zone when pulled over. Is there any way I can have the ticket lessened or removed? Is the confusion over the actual speed limit any defense?

Other notes: I was riding with another car, we were BOTH pulled over.

It appears you were speeding even if the zone where 65. You can go to court but, without a slick lawyer, your chances are very , very slim of getting anything reduced.

I got my first speeding ticket today. I'm not sure if it means anything, but the officer misspelled my name. I was woundering if there is any law that states I can get out of paying since my name is spelled wrong.
