Put her in a different room.

Hamsters are nocturnal. That means that they sleep during the day and they're awake at night. She won't change her sleeping habits any more then you will.

As for the chewing, they need to chew to wear down their teeth. Hamsters teeth grow at all times. If they don't wear down their teeth, before long they won't be able to eat. Buy a grinding stone (pet stores sell them) for her to gnaw on.

    1. they make very quiet wheels, some make more noise than others. They have ones that are specificly quiet. The cheaper ones make a lot more noise.

    2. you can keep them in a glass tank with a wire top and no wire to chew on.

They are night animals, ( we should read and study about our pets before we get them)

Our hamsters are at the other end of the house, and at times I can still hear them playing at night

Ear plugs. Radio. Fan. Something to drown out the noise of the wheel. Hamsters can be quite annoying but they are cute as heck. We used to put ours in her ball for a while during the day to tire her out. Of course like the last two posters said, they are nocturnal and no matter how tired you get them they will still wake up at night. Best bet are those previously stated by myself and the others. Good luck sleeping.

Have you tried letting your hamster run around the house? Not at night but when they can be monitored? They make balls that you can put them inside and they can get around in them and see the world. Most et stores offer chew toys in all kinds of colors and shapes. As already said they like chewing. You might want to go to the store and see what they recommend.

If she's in a secure cage she should be fine. Put her high enough so that the dog can't get to her. Or, if you have a spare bedroom put the hamster there and close the door.
