    Sewer smell in APT
I just moved into the apartment that I live in now. Its winter and whenever I turn on the heat, after a while the place smells like sewage. Initially, I thought it was gas leaking but the maintenance people came over and said that it was sewer gas. They vaccumed the place and since I was going away, when I came back everything was fine but then three days after, its back to the smell. They'll look again today, what is the problem? Hould I moove out of the place?

Smells and noises are the most difficult to track down if you're not there.
While we can't pinpoint the source we can point you to the most likely offenders. Check the traps, the drains and around the toilet. Good luck, Tom
