    Where and what are the forms I fill out to get EIC for 2008?
    I was using HR block free edition like I usually do, and it prompted me that I was eligible for EIC but I'd never heard of this or thought of it before. So I got the EIC for 2009 and double checked the IRS website and it said you could claim EIC for a couple years back. I know that I qualify for 2008, I was single and made under 12,000 but I just didn't know what EIC was and H&R block didn't tell me I was eligible, only asked if I was eligible. I'm glad they told me this year I was. I keep finding different things on different websites and I don't know where to get forms or if I'm suppost to file 2008 all over again. And I have 3 W2's from different jobs. Another reason I hadn't filed for it was that the IRS came after me about some Advanced EIC reported to them that I never received but that's resolved. I just didn't want to get in trouble. Hope this was enough info! Thanks to whomever responds!

    If you have filed a 2008 tax return, you need to file Form 1040X with Schedule EIC to claim the Earned Income Credit.

    Any competent tax professional can handle this amendment with little problem.
