    When facing the engine from the front the dipstick will be located near the rear of the engine on the left hand side.

    I had the same question because when I look at the owners manual, it shows the transmission dipstick on the left hand side, but that's where my oil dipstick is. I just wanted to make sure the previous owner didn't switch the 2.

I have a 2001 Nissan Sentra. The plastic handle on the oil dipstick broke off. Now the remaining part of the dipstick is stuck deep down in the oil tube; at least 12 inches down. Don't know why the manufacturers would make the dipstick handle out of plastic... Anyway... I've tried different...
