    I start with a lot of eyeliner. Something cheap, they tend to smudge better than the good quality stuff. Then go over it with one of those loose powder liners. I think revlon makes a line called bedroom eyes. All the other brands I've tried have worked just as well, but you can look at that line to see the kind of powder I'm talking about. Then I just start blending outward. And then finish with plenty of mascara.

    Navy blue eyeliner or gray eyeliner are also good for a smoky eye look. You can also buy eyeliner with a sponge tip to smudge the eyeliner after applying it.

    Another tip you could try is to apply dark eyeshadow with a flat, thin brush along your lash line.
