    GFIC Electrical Outlet stopped working
I replaced the lightbulbs in our vanity mirror and put in 60W instead of 40W because I couldn't find a label that told me the maximum wattage. I realized my mistake when only 3 of the bulbs would work. I replaced them with 40W and everything was fine. Now, the GFIC outlet on that sink won't work. I've tried resetting, the GFIC in the other sink area works fine. I checked the breaker, no tripped switches. I did throw the corresponding switch off then back on. I have reset all other GFIC outlets in our house. Now what?

I think it is time to buy a new GFCI. GFCI do have to be replaced from time to time, especially if the contractor installed the cheap GFCI's.

Terri, it's very unlikely that the bulb wattage affected anything. The bulb that didn't work was probably defective in some way... the wattage difference wouldn't affect the operation of the fixture... at least not in this case. When you say the GFCI won't work are you saying there is no power there? Did you push the reset button?
