    Red skin complexion.
I have a very red complexion, it almost looks like I am sunburnt. When I wake up/shower it is a whitish color, but the moment I leave my house it seems to change to red. Since I have stopped wearing foundation (due to acne troubles) I feel really self conscious due to my red face and I am wondering what I can do to fix it? I will not wear make-up of any kind on my skin so suggestion the green makeup foundation won't help. I am looking for a permanent solution. Considering that it is not red all the time I don't know what it is, or if it is even my "complexion"

I also have a lot of acne scars on my forehead that makes it look like I still have acne (Which at the moment I don't) I'm wondering if there is any products or natural things I can do to help get rid of the scars.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like it could be rosacea. There are creams for that. But to get it diagnosed you'd need to see a dermatologist.

They'd probably just refer you to the closest dermatologist. Have you googled it or looked in the yellow pages?

It's a skin issue. A dermatologist will be the only one that will be able to diagnose and treat it.

You should be careful what you put on your face [face washes, makeup, etc maybe even what food you eat?] and also you could get this checked more thoroughly and accurately by a dermatologist.

For scars you could also see a dermatologist to get help; but vitamin E and mederma cream [both found in stores] can sometimes help with scars.

Beware that Mederma is $35 a tube, however Bio Oil is $11 and it works far better for me..

I'm a little late to answer but your problem probably hasn't been fixed since it's usually a persevering problem. I have a red skin complexion too and it doesn't look like the rosacea photos on Google.. yet. My mother has rosacea and my doctor says I'm propabaly going to develop it. This may be your case as well. Remember that the photos on Google are pretty extreme (my mother does not look that red and blotchy). As for a solution, there is no miracle. I find that using spectro cleansers is very good because they are mild. Neutrogena, clean and clear and all those commercial brands are really strong and I do not recommend them for someone prone to redness, rosacea or not. My great natural solution is aloe. Not aloe extracts in a bottle or one of the many aloe face creams (that don't actually have a significant amount of aloe anyway). I'm talking about the aloe plant itself, you can't get more natural than that. I just cut off one of the "branches" and apply the "goo" on my face (nothing disgusting, it's transparent, odourless and silky). Aloe has healing properties and it appeases the skin. Then my skin is really soft and it really does calm the redness. The other thing I noticed about red skin is that the more I'm bothered by it, the redder it is. It's not just in my mind ; since I accepted the fact that I look this way and that I won't let it diminish my confidence, people close to me have noticed that I seem less flushed. Weird isn't it? Conclusion : love yourself, there is no point in making yourself miserable over a little redness. Turns out if you're confident, people even think it's cute (which, of course, I still think it's not.. I mean it's really red, not just rosy, but they seemed sincere.)

Good luck. You are not alone ;)
