    Adding a 2nd sink in kitchen (bar/prep sink)
    Hi everyone,

    I am replacing the countertops in my kitchen and figured we may want to add a 2nd sink about 3 feet over from my current kitchen sink. This new sink would be a bar/prep sink like this one Undermount Stainless Steel Kitchen Bar Sink : 1512 - Buy.com.

    My question is how I would connect the drainage from this sink and could I tie it into the existing sink drainage since it is so close. The sink currently has a garbage disposal unit and I believe also is tied into the dishwasher next to it. I will have to check it.

    Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. I can take some pictures also if needed.

    Since it is only 3' away, I don't see any problem tying both sinks into one drain connecting above the trap - just like you would connect large triple bowl sink. Let's see what other Experts have to say...

    I wish I had a picture. You can't trap twice and you must have a 3/4" slope so lets picture how this can work. If you trap the bar sink then it must join your other drain after its trap. If you don't trap this sink the drain must join the next drain line above the trap, will you have enough room to accomplish that? I'd try a dry fit amd see which works best.
