    Washer water draining into bathtub
Doing laundry tonight I heard the distinct sound of water draining, a sound I don't normally hear. I walked into the bathroom and saw my toilet and bathtub full of the dirty clothes washer water.

What could be wrong? The weather is in the 40's so no frozen pipes. There has been construction on my street but the last couple of days has been cleanup.

It sounds like you have a clog in your drain somewhere downstream of your laundry and bathroom. Do you happen to know how your plumbing is laid out? Is the laundry upstream of the bathroom? Have you noticed the laundry, toilet or bathtub draining slower than it used to?

How old is the house? How far from your home was the construction? Did they do anything that could have crushed or collapsed your sewer pipe to the sewer main?
