Sears, Penney's, Macy's, Target, WalMart. I don't know where you shop.

I think I got my first bra from sears, if I remember correctly. Target may also be a good place to look. Is your mother around to help you? Or an aunt, sister, cousin, even an older friend? I always found it helpful to have another female with me when I was bra shopping. It can be a little overwhelming at first (there's so many different bras out there!) and another woman who's already gone through the bra section can help you find a good bra to get you started.

Back in the days when rocks were still cooling, every department store had clerks who specialized in helping women find the right bra. The fitters would measure a customer, choose several bras, help the customer put them on and observe her from different angles, would adjust the bras while the customer was wearing each one. Yes, talk it over with a trusted adult female. It's amazing how easily a poorly fitting bra can mess up your day and how you look to the rest of the world.

For your first bra, you don't need anything fancy or expensive. Walmart usually has a good selection of bras for reasonable prices. If they don't have anything that fit with the rest of the bras, they might have training bras in the little girl's section with the socks and underwear.

I've had good experiences at nordstroms and a couple small bra/lingerie shops. But I won't shop at victoria's secret, frederick's, and a lot of other places anymore mostly because of poor customer service.

Most girls end up going through bras too quickly in the first year or two for quality to matter. Who cares if the bra falls apart in 6 months if she outgrows it in 4?

A first bra needs to fit, while still leaving a little growing room, be comfortable, and be simple to take on and off. Something without a clasp wqould be the easiest. Go with a plain color that won't show under shirts (white, tan, or pale pink if you're light-skinned and brown, black, or a darker tan if you're dark skinned).

Haha. Heath, you reminded me of one of my first bras. Hot pink bras are not the best idea for an everyday bra. Figured that one out when I got it and could hardly wear it with anything.
