I had a 140000 BTU 18 year old gas furnace replaced for a 2800 square foot house excluding lower level basement. I just replaced it yesterday with a Lennox 135000 BTU with Aprilaire 600 humidifier. Is this sufficient heat producing furnace? Was three thousand dollars too much?

If the OLD one give you enough heat, the new one will give you more. Its cost depend on the local labor market, I think the price not too bad,, did you get at least 3 estimates

Price is OK for a 90+. You probably won't miss the 5000 BTU. It would be more helpful to know the old efficiency vs the new efficiency.
