    Dispersing ashes on lawn
I burn my yard waste after pruning in late winter in a 55 gallon drum. Will spreading the ashes over my lawn hurt my tall fescue grass?

Wood ashes have long been accepted as a good fertilizer. I burn brush piles in my garden and add the ashes from my fireplace to it. As with any fertilizer, spread it well to avoid burning.
