    Broken gas wall oven thermostat
Hi the thermocouple coming in to my oven is cracked and that part has been discontinued, is there a other possibility to fix it?

You provided ZERO information such as make, model or age of stove.

Although I have used this service Thermostats rebuilt, Thermostats restored  to rebuild a 50 year old thermostat a few years ago and I was real happy. There are companies that might rebuild controls, but aren't consumer friendly due to liabilities. The particular stove that I rebuilt has nearly ZERO safeties and no standing pilot.

They even have an environmentally stable material to put in the sensing bulb.

I do hope your talking about the copper filled tube that regulates the temperature and not the one that determines the presence of a pilot.

Even though the manuafacturer says it's discontinued, there are generally aftermarket parts sources.

The company I used was surperb to work with and they even learned a trick from me.

I may know of another company that rebuilds controls but definitely not consumer friendly.

Thanks for your response, it's a Frigidaire model # FGB500CGBB, and the thermostat is part number 318059200, and its broken in the cavity of the oven, the wire that comes in to the oven cracked off from the thermocouple so essentially, the thermostat isn`t working

I did a Google search just for the part number and came up with a few hits. It still might be unavailable, but it's worth searching for the p/n alone because of the fact that aftermarket replacement parts MAY be available.

    318059000

That wasn't the only hit. Call for availability.

The technique I used to install the bulb was to use a large diameter straw. I threaded the straw through both oven cavities (the double wall) and then threaded the bulb through the straw. Then I cut the straw off with a razor blade.

After you exhaust a Google search and call for availability and the rebuild possibility (I doubt it), I may be able to find one other lead.

Thanks for all your advice, and effort and time, I did search Google myself before I posted my question, and almost every site that came up on Google, (along with the ling you provided), had a link to "A1 Appliance Parts", that doesn`t have it either. I will still try the rebuild possibility, but they seem to be closed till Monday. Thanks again and we`ll be in touch.

I found these guys on the web too. Repco Replacement Products

Email to them must originate from the same as the domain from which it's sent. e.g. no gmail/yahoo from a Comcast.net or verizon.net domain.
