Claim Taxes on the money spent for wife's license exam
    Hi,

I am currently holding H1B visa and my wife is holding H4-dependent visa. I have spent couple of hundred dollars for her physical theraphy license exam.

The exam includes - Educational Credential Evaluation, Exam Fee, Exam Class Fee, NYSED Application verification etc [all put together around 1400$].

Can I claim taxes on the above item.

    Thank You!

No, you cannot deduct these expenses.

Licensing costs for employees to qualify for their profession are NOT deductible.
