    Does the fan run as usual?

    Yes - with the exception that the Intellitouch wall switch (W32) no longer seems to operate properly. None of the programs run properly (e.g. light minder, security etc.) and for some reason the reverse switch also controls the lights. However, I can get the fan to operate, and change speeds as well as the lights to operate and dim.

    Yes - whether fan is running or not. Once I turn on the power at the intellitouch switch the noise begins and persists until I shut the power off.

    Is the sound coming from the switch or from the fan? I assume the fan.

    You can try replacing the circuit boards in the fan. This can get expensive. Sometimes it is recommended to replace the control at the same time, as you don't want the control (if it is bad) to fry the new boards.

    IT fans are a headache.
