Pre calc / Trig
Can anyone tell me how to work/prove this identity?! I just don't understand! Cot*sec =1/sin
help asap please!

do you have your definitions for cot and sec in terms of cos and sin and tan?
It should be straight forward :)

cot x * sec x = 1/sin x
cot x is the opposite of tan x, which is sin x/cos x. Therefore cot x is cos x/sin x.
sec x is the opposite of cos x. Therefore sec x is 1/cos x.
cos x/sin x * 1/cos x =...

I think that your statement of "cot is the opposite of tan" is particularly misleading also. Reciprocal is a better word.
