How to evict an adult child in New Jersey
My twenty eight year old daughter still lives at home and have a very good paying job and does not contribute to the household. I am separated from her father and have two younger children. She moved once and returned within six months, she has no respect for me and comes and goes as she pleases. In addition she does not wash her clothes on a regular basis and the smell is unbearable, she also eats in her room and the dishes just piles up, the smell is so bad that it is affecting our health, I have asked her on numerous occasions to wash her dirty clothes (especially her under garments) and to clean her room and nothing ever gets done. I no longer can tolerate this madness and neither can her younger siblings, this is a very bad example for them, what can I do?

Put everything she owns on the front lawn and have the locks changed. I think she will get the idea.

Ok, personally she would be thrown out but since this is asked in legal area, legally you give her notice that she is to move out in 30 days, if she does not you file an eviction on her

I have no idea why this popped up that I am in agreement (whoops! Wrong button!) but this is, in fact, illegal and can get the OP in some serious trouble.

Adult child must be evicted according to NJ law.

Yes, I see what you mean. It was a gut reaction to the OPs situation and I realize she can get in trouble legally. I will take the greenie in default, thanks.
