Why is my furnace taking water constantly

My forced hw via oil furnace is taking cold water in constantly. You can hear the water run until you close the valve. I shut the hot water and heating lines down so the water is going some unknown place. I have a slab ranch, don't see water on the floor under the furnace or anything. Any ideas?
