Question
Friendship,
Finding it can be extremely difficult, sometimes. There was a time when I had no problem finding it, but now it seems like a slim possibility. I can't help but wonder; is it me? Am I intimidating? Am I not friendly enough? My biggest question, though, is am I just depressed? After I started going to college, I haven't found a single kindred spirit. You'd think, hey, friends are easy to come by in college. Yet it seems like quite the opposite. Being only 20, perhaps I'm only thinking too much about it. Perhaps, because I'm a freshman, and literally just finishing my first semester, I'm just getting situated and friends will come eventually. Everyone keeps telling me that. |

Why not try it the other way round, and go looking for ways to BE a friend? Join a club that does something useful or do charity work, or just look for ways to help people. As you get older, you have to work at friendships, they don't happen automatically because you are sharing a desk. |
