    Education expense payment made pursuant to a divorce can it be itemized ON 1040NR
    1. Can I claim education expense of $8000 in schedulae A if it was to keep my job?

    2. I paid $ 6000 towards settlement of my divorce to my exhusband?

    Can I itemize both of these. If yes then what line?

    1. Yes, if it is required by your employer.
    2. No settlement payment is not deductible. Alimony is deductible.
