Larger suction line than spec for a mini-split OK?
I'm replacing one dead mini-split system with a different model. The original unit called for a 5/8" suction line, and the replacement specifies a 3/8" suction line.

Will using the existing over-sized suction line with reducers cause a problem?

    Thanks!

Use the proper suction line size for the new unit.

Mini Split Issues [ 11 Answers ]

We recently purchased three mini split systems (one ton, one and a half ton, two ton) from a privately labeled retailer, Harbor Point. Apparently, the systems were manufactured by Chigo. The one and a half ton system has two interior units serviced by one outside condenser. Two of the three (one...

R410 mini split has cold liquid line [ 1 Answers ]

Reply to aldermat. I did not take temperature of the liquid line but I can tell you when I felt it, it was cold or colder than the suction. But the suction pressure was close to being right on at 115# and 37 degrees. And the unit did blow cold air but only when the compresser ran.

Mini-Split wiring [ 12 Answers ]

I am installing a Mitsubishi mini-split with an indoor and an outdoor unit (MUZ-A15NA). I ran 220V wire from the electrical box outside. It is on a 15 amp breaker as the instructions have it rated as 15 amp max. I purchased a disconnect switch for the outdoor unit that is a 60 amp fuseable...
