    Microhood ovens
I am trying to find a microhood that will fit under the older style cabinets. The standard height of 16-17" does not allow for enough room over the stove. I need to find a model that is 12-13" in height. It is had to believe that a manufacturer has not come along to address this need. I have search sears sight and all microhoods are around 16". It is to costly to replace cabinet over stove. Any help would be much appreciated.

Very unlikely you will find an over-the-range microwave that is shorter than that. By the way, it's not about the age of the cabinetry... I have seen many 80+ year old houses that have plenty of room for an OTR. It's about the cabinetry design, which unfortunately varies widely. You may end up using a vent hood over the stove and do something else for a microwave. The OTR exhaust systems really aren't much to write home about anyway.
