    Constant high idle (4500rpm) d15b vtec 94
    I have a honda civic 95 with a d15b vtec single stage 94 I recently had probleme with my igniter unit so I replace de igniter unit and the ignition coil from the distributor of the original engine of the car (d15b not vtec) since its done my engine si run at cevry high idle (4500rpm) what this could be?? Some one have a troubleshooting for this problem ?

    It sounds like the igniter and coil are not the correct ones for your new engine. Install the correct parts, remembering to apply silicone heat transfer compound to the back of the igniter.

    I asked some question to my nearest honda dealer and they confirm me that if the igniter unit wasn't compatible the car would not start and the coil is the same part number.

I have a 94 Grand Am 3.1 liter engine that while in park idles at about 2500 RPM and when you put it in gear may go down to about 1500RPM. After warming up a bit it might drop to about 2000 RPM. Didn't see any obvious problems.
