    h1 visa tax
I am looking to move within my company this year to NY, so hopefully someone can advise what tax rates and tax credits as an employee would be applicable for me, based on the following information:

    Salary $100,000
    Visa: H1B
Wife and two kids (2 & 5 yrs) on H4 visas

    Ballpark numbers would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You have work visa. You must pay SS tax, Medicare tax, federal and state income tax.
What exactly do you mean by "move within my company this year...".

By "move within my company this year" I mean that my employer is an American multinational and I will be moving country but staying employed by the same company, albeit under an American work contract; that's why I need to know the approximate rates of tax and tax credits.. etc etc.

If you file joint return and claim your children as dependent, your taxes (without child tax credit or any stimulus rebate) based on 2009 tax rates are:
    SS tax $6200
    Meidare Tax $1450
    Federal Income tax $10875
Then you will have state income tax. You may get $2000 as child tax credit.
