    Dependents in india for tax filing
    I and my wife are on h1b and has 1 child who is a usa citizen and other and inidan citize.Both of them are in india in 2009 and my wife returend from india in August 2009.So can I claim both my daughters as dependents on my tax filing or not? I sent money for their maintenance every month.They are below 10 years of age.

    You can file joint return as residents. You can claim the child who is U.S. citizen.
    You can claim the child who is not U.S. citizen if the child was in US any time in 2009.
