    PVC shower floor flange
    Hi,

I will be installing a linear shower grate instead of a standard circular floor waste and had a question regarding the pvc shower floor flange, more specifically the adjustable drain barrel. Since the linear shower grate is 1" in height it seems I can just put the shower garte on top of the drain base and then mortar as I do not need a height adjustment, so can I get rid of the adjustable drain barrel and just install the shower grate on top of the drain base or is the drain barrel required by regulation?

Please see link for linear shower grate pic and floor flange pic

Please explain how the linear base will connect to the female threads in the flange type shower drain.
    Back to you,Tom
