Hello first I would like to start by saying I don't know much about this situation as it has to deal with my parents but for the most part I know what's going on

About 2 weeks ago we got a letter saying that the rent hasn't been paid in some time now, now that is true but I have more to say.

First off as far as I know this apartment was owned by my great aunt and passed down to her other family members ( us ) and from what I think I understand its an owned apartment and we pay for security.
Now on the letter it said we had 5 days to pay for this amount of money ( $3500) and the next day my mom paid 2500 and the last 1000 a few days ago.

Now here's the thing, They filed a report to court after the first payment was made before and didn't show that we paid that amount, also the rent statement shows we paid for all if it but like I said they're still going to go to court, Or at least that's what the new card says.

We live in New York if that has anything to do with it, and yeah, Can they do anything do us if all 100% of the rent is paid before the court date if there is one, also the dates on the envelope they sent it is different from everything else and all there dates are all over the place, we don't know what that's even about too.

Now my mom said this happened to somebody she knows in the same complex and everything is fine now but I'm still worried.

As long as you have proof you paid, I think your OK. It doesn't really make sense why they would still want to go to court though. I would make sure that's the only issue at stake
