    Hot surface ignitors
    Replaced a broken hot surface ignitors, and with in 2 days it was broken again I can't find anything wrong othe that the ignitor, any suggestions what I should look at next

    Was it the correct ignitor you picked for replacement. Some ignitors work on different voltages. We put a lower voltage ignitor in what we call a blow up box for a class demonstration and sure enough once we applied the higher incorrect voltage it only took a few tries and it ended up broken. You might recheck this before you replace it again.

    Keepitsimplestupid is also correct. Most quality ignitors come with a soft foam surrounding the ignitor itself. It prevents it from being scratched creating a weak spot or damaged due to vibration as in dropping it while handeling. I always wear disposable gloves when doing such projects.
