    Bid rafter cleaning costs
    I need to clean about 280,000 ln ft of rafters insida a building,, what should I charge per foot. So flying blind on this job

    My approach would be to bid this hourly Ron.

    Figure about how long it would take to clean a certain amount of the rafters, say 12 feet. Then divide the total linear feet by the 12 feet, then multiply your labor rate to that figure.

    Then add all your costs to this hourly labor rate and total time that you arrive at for this job. Be sure to figure in all your additional costs; equipment (lift, etc?), taxes, supplies. Admin, profit, etc.

    This will then give you a 'loaded' hourly rate. See if you can give them a loaded hourly rate and estimate the total time involved. Or if necessary that you give them a total price then do your math and using the above method calculate a total price. Although I would try to get a 'fudge factor' on the time involved that your price should remain constant however with a variance of say... 2 to 5 % may apply.

    How tall are they off ground, will you need a lift to get to them,

    Is there an agreement to what "clean" is

    What are you cleaning them with,
