    Filing taxes on change of status from f1 to h1-b
    My status changed from F1 to H1-B in Oct 1st 2009? Am I still required to fill form 8843?

    If you are not married and have not completed 5-years on F-1, you will file nonresident tax return and Form 8843. If you had income during F-1, you can claim treaty deduction.
