    Gender Prediction
I had to switch OBGYN Doc's in the middle of my pregnancy due to situations beyond my control. My First doctor did many ultrasounds on me and since I've switched, the new doctor has done none. My husband and I wanted to know our baby's gender. Is there anything we can do? And, Why hasn't the doctor done an ultrasound?

What was the situation that caused you to swithch.

He would have the records from the first doctor and since you would have appeared healthy, he hears the heartbeat, he may not feel the need.

And depending on where you live and the insurance you have, perhaps the test is only paid for in certain reasons.

The only way you will know is to ask this doctor why

You will have to ask the doc why he has not done an ultrasound. It may have to do with your insurance. Ultrasounds aren't done for gender prediction, that's just a plus you get out of it. They are primarily done to make sure baby is developing right and everything is as it should be. Since you've had some, your new doctor may not feel it is necessary to do another.

Where I live there is this thing called U-C Baby. Basically you pay $200, you get a 3-D ultra sound done, they will give you the pictures, and tell you the gender, and then put the baby's heart beat on a disk, and conveniently enough there is a store right across the street called Build-A-Bear, where you can go in and make your own teddy bear and they will put your babies heart beat in the bear.

When I was pregnant, I had to get my fair share of ultra sounds done, my daughter was Frank Breech. But my doctor also told me that high frequency of the pitch has been related to ear problems later in life. I have no idea if that is true, but he was my doctor so I took his word for it.
