So my girlfriend and I have been dating over the internet for four months now. She has told me that she lives in Spain. (I am 13 and she has told me she is 14) We have never actually spoke but we have swapped pictures. She hadn't been on in awhile (3 days) so I decided to check her IP so I could sent her a present in the mail. When I checked it on a world map site I found she lived in Wisconsin. I checked several other sites, all the same result. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks.

It doesn't really matter where she lives, it's the fact that she was dishonest, right? Well, "tell" her how you feel, and learn from this.

People lie on the internet every day.

So you found a truth in life, a large group of people lie about who they are on the internet, better at 13 and not phsycial harmed as it would be.

All I can say is, please be very careful on the internet! Don't trust people on there unless you know them or have really gotten to know them. I once had an internet relationship, which went well. He was legit, so, I am not saying every one lies, however, there are liars on the internet, so be careful.

Why do you need an internet relationship? Get off the computer, get out and have some fun! At least you'll know where they live.

The sad thing is I've tried to but no girl wants to date a person in a wheelchair. That's all they see. A wheelchair.

She's not your girlfriend. It's a person who may or may not be a girl that you chat with on the internet. Girl/boy friends are people that you spend time with face to face.

My partner was chatting to a girl on the internet (long story) and she told him she was 19 and living in America (we are in Australia), turns out she was really only 13 and living just down the road from him!!

Talk about creepy.

I'm not a fan of the whole online boy/girlfriend thing... you never really know who they are, even with photos.

I could tell you that I am a 12 year old girl living in Italy, I could even send you photos of 'myself' that I have found on Google. Lying on the internet is easy, and if you get caught, well... you can just 'log off' and delete that person from your contacts.
