Do I have to file taxes on the sale of a 40,000 home?
I am on disability and if I sell my home, would I have to pay taxes on the sale? I also have unsecured debt of credit and have health problems. I need to sell the house because I can no longer afford the maintenance and monthly bills due to my health. Can my unsecured creditors come after the procceds from the sale of my house? It has been my primary residence for the last 10 years.

Are you paying on the debt or was it a judgement against you?

I am currently paying the credit cards, and no judgement has been placed against me. However, I cannot keep paying them.
