    Hvac vent locations
    Hello,
I'm in the process of having a home built. In the model the heating vent is behind the bathroom door. Is this proper?

Heating vents do the most good when placed on outside perimiter of the home; under windows, near doors. Behind the door will restrict it's efficiency, but I supect the layout didn't allow the vent to be where it should be. Tell the builder where you want it, or better yet consult a hvac engineer. It's your money.

I need to replace a tub, and of course the replacement has slightly different rough-in dimensions than the old tub. The location of the current trap won't work with the new tub, but there is room to place it downstream (within 2-feet of the tub drain horizontally, and one foot vertically). This...

HVAC Vent Noise [ 5 Answers ]

I recently had my HVAC system replaced and now I am having a problem with the noise being generated by the room vents. It is probably because this newer system (the previous was >30yo) has a stronger fan motor and is forcing the air through the vents faster. It is really annoying and wakes us in...

Drain locations [ 5 Answers ]

I am moving the bathtub and toilet drains on my concrete slab and need to know the standard distances from the wall for each drain. I believe that the toilet drain is 12" but have no know idea as to what the bathtub would be. Thank you.
