What is the proper technique for copper pipe soldering. I do not see anything about deburring that the IRC code requires. I have seen on a welding site that soldering should be wiped clean to remove residual flux but that the pipe should be sufficiently cooled first otherwise the joint could cool...

(New user) I have a 1-1/2" copper p-trap & drain line in my basement that has burst at the drain pipe right after the trap, can I sweat the pipe out of the end of the trap and reuse the trap with new copper 1-1/2" piping, will it hold?

this is close (5/8") to the stucco wall. Will I be able to get the joint hot enough to solder, or will the stucco wall suck away the heat?
