Doggie dandruff
My puppy has had dandruff ever since we got her 3 months ago when we got her she had little fur on the back of her thighs on her buttock and I though maybe it was just because she was a puppy it grew in eventually and I relaxed and though the dandruff would go away. Then I did some research and I found that a lot of the reasoningfor dry itchy skin is the dog food so we switched her over to a good dog food full of vitamins and protiens we even got her rawhides for vitamin E but nothing seems to work if we give her a bath it will go away for about a day or two but its right back within a week I brush her almost every day I was wondering if any one knows of an oil I can add to help her skin produce moisture or a wipe that will help clean off her fur so I don't have to give her baths because I know baths are part of the problem.
Thanks we both would be grateful

What's the name of the food?
It typically takes two months for foods to take visual effects to the skin and coat.

The food is called cambells soup for the puppies soul we bought it from a pett feed shop near our house. I wasn't sure on how long it would take so think you for telling me she just started eating all of that food and not mixed with her old food so maybee ill just have to be pacient and wait.
Thank you Lucky098

You can also try adding some oils to her food to promote healthy skin.
I personally feed a tin of sardines in oil twice a week, but you can also go for the cheaper option of just a tablespoon of vegetable oil mixed through their food as well.
You don't want to go overboard and feed daily but once or twice a week would be beneficial.

I love, love. Love the omega oils from my vet. They are cheap and do the trick. They are a little better for them veg oil, plus they have more nutrients. If you are looking for something super cheap, you can get cod liver oil, either in oil form or capsul.

I have heard that adding oils to food helps I think I'm going to try it because I want her to look as helthy as she acts. It also could be the weather too right so it could go away in the summer time?

If you have a heater running in your house during winter time that can definitely dry their skin out, especially if they sit near it.

No she doesn't but the heat is on. Once I tried an oat meal bath, like grind up the oat meal and put it in the water but that seemed to leave an oatmeal residue that looked like dandruff! The other day I washed her with head and shoulders and now today I'm reading Don't DO THAT so I feel like an idiot but she's OK nothing happened to her I just thought I would help. But you both suggest something internal other then something toppical so I think ill go pick up some fish oil.

Try Coal Tar shampoo.
It's for humans but it's safe for dogs and gets rid of dandruff.
It's not a permanent solution but it should get rid of the flakes she has now.
I only found out about this one recently and tried it myself, it doesn't irritate, or make them itchy.

I use Alledrgroom shampoo. A bit more expensive then the generic doggy shampoo, but it is so worth it. Also if you are bathing her too much this will cause her skin to dry out. Try buying one good quality shampoo, bathing once more, and then add the omega or fish oils to the diet. That along with her doet change should do the trick!

"My boyfriend has bad dandruff" she says.
The stylist says "Give him head and shoulders."
